Mosca at Logimat 2018 – fast and flexible

From different product types and lot sizes to fast production cycles – modern intralogistics need to meet many demands. We will be presenting strapping solutions from entry-level models to fully automated systems that are ready to handle these challenges at Logimat, from 13 to 15 March 2018, Stand A37 Hall 4. As a full-service provider we will also be showcasing strapping materials and Industry 4.0 developments in the strapping industry with new technologies including RFID and open data interfaces.

The Logimat 2018 slogan: "First-hand intralogistics: Digital-Connected-Innovative" is not only reflected at our exhibition stand. The Innovation Forum is where Mosca Logistics Sales Manager Johannes Wieder shows what the company has to offer in the world of Industry 4.0. His

talk on 14 March in Forum C Hall 4 at 12.30 pm, entitled “Ready for the Future – Strapping Technology 4.0 from the Innovation Leader” will deal with communication between machines and the interactive control of components. This enables industrial customers to manufacture individualized products and opens the door to new logistics solutions.

The options include a system developed by Mosca in cooperation with PSI Automotive & Industry GmbH and the Winckel company that enables customers to order new strapping material automatically. RFID gates and the strapping machine itself read an RFID tag attached to the strap coil and forward the information to the customer's ERP system, which detects when the strapping material stock has dropped to a pre-defined level and automatically sends out a new order.

Versatile strapping for different product types and sizes

The strapping machines displayed by Mosca at Logimat represent the complete product portfolio. The fully automated EVOLUTION SoniXs MS-6 with conveyor technology and EVOLUTION SoniXs MS-6-H are ideal for demanding, high-volume strapping. Both machines are specially engineered for heavy and bulky products, like white goods or furniture. The side sealing unit of the EVOLUTION SoniXs MS-6 enables strapping of low transported, heavy products. Thanks to its movable horizontal frame, the EVOLUTION SoniXs MS-6-H straps products with variable height, like refrigerators, at different levels for secure transport.

The high-performance machines can be integrated into any production line using Mosca or third-party conveyor technology. Open interfaces enable the user to assimilate the strapping machines into an M2M communication system with or without control station.

Both models feature low-wear electromechanical components and our patented SoniXs ultrasonic sealing unit. Available for the first time in both a horizontal strapping machine and one with a side sealing unit, this ensures reliable machine performance even at high cycle rates. The optional Mosca remote maintenance also helps to ensure that production runs perfectly. It enables our technicians to remotely access and troubleshoot a customer's machine.

The top-of-the-range EVOLUTION SoniXs TR-6 Pro is equipped for the highest strapping performance requirements and the demands of Industry 4.0. Along with a range of different strapping programs, positions and settings that can be easily selected via HMI touch panel, users can integrate the unit into many standard control platforms.

The Mosca RO-M Fusion is the company's standard entry-level machine. It is ideal for companies that need to reliably strap products on a less-frequent basis. Super soft strapping optimally secures fragile products for transport.

Complete package with strapping material and service

We complement our range of strapping machines and systems with self-produced strapping materials and a comprehensive range of services. In the fully automated plant we manufacture strapping material made of PP, PET, and the biodegradable plastic PLA. Customers can order quantities ranging from a single carton to a complete container load.

Our service continues long after the sale of a machine. Installation, relocation, maintenance, and training packages ensure proper machine operation and show users optimization and networking potential. Starting at the beginning of 2018, we have been offering standardized services worldwide under the name "ONE Service."
