INTERNATIONAL MANAGER'S MEETING

Each year Mosca and its subsidiaries attend Mosca’s International Managers meeting.  As a global company, it is essential that General Managers have the opportunity to meet up and discuss their businesses, markets, business statistics, growth areas and international strategy. The meetings are held at Mosca’s international headquarters in Germany every other year and on the alternate years, they are hosted by a Mosca subsidiary.

This year’s International Managers meeting was hosted by Mosca Asia in Singapore and took place over 5 days. Mosca representatives were in attendance from China, Malaysia, Canada, USA, the UK, Australia, Germany,  Spain, Mexico, South America and Poland.  The guests stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, where the meetings were also held.

2008 saw the set up of the first production plant in Johor Bahru in Asia, followed by a second production plant in 2013.  The sites produce both machines and plastic strapping material to allow for more efficient supply and shipment to Mosca customers across Asia and Australasia.  Along with the meetings, the group was taken on a guided tour of the new plant facilities and to various tourist spots throughout the week, including; Cloud Forest, Marina Bay, China Town, Clark Quay, Sentosa Island and Resorts World.

As Mosca is a worldwide business, so too are many of its competitors. The International Managers meeting provides a great opportunity to discuss and share competitor activity, strategic market intelligence and global customer insight. 

New plans were announced by Timo Mosca, Mosca’s second generation CEO, concerning Global Marketing, Purchasing, IT, Machine Strategy, Raw Material Resourcing and Research & Development.  As the company approaches its 50th Anniversary, keeping ahead of the game with new strategies is more important than ever as the business matures and each subsidiary continues to expand its market.

Although the International Managers meetings normally alternate between being held at Mosca’s international head office in Waldbrunn, Germany and a subsidiary business, next year’s is being hosted by Mosca Spain to make way for a special celebration in Germany in 2016, which will be in honour of the company’s half century.

Managing Director for the UK, Gaye Tate, speaks very highly of this year’s hosts and in particular, the efforts made by Reena Kaur (Senior Operations Manager) and Witold Nowak (Managing Director) for Mosca Asia.  “They did a fantastic job of organising the week and were very gracious and thoughtful hosts.”
