Reliable transport securing of products from the building materials industry is of central importance, because if the load is not adequately secured during transportation, this can have serious consequences - in addition to damage to the product itself, damage to the vehicle can also occur or even people can be seriously injured. Due to the wide variety of materials, shapes, weights, sizes and container units, the right choice of load securing is not always easy. Bulky wooden boards, roof battens or chipboard, heavy paving stones, clinker bricks, bricks or tiles or large-volume steel sheets, pipes or grids: the timber and construction industries place high demands on the load securing of their products. Mosca has developed ideal solutions for these special challenges, ensuring that almost all products in these industries arrive safely and undamaged at their destination.

Safe bundling of long and narrow building materials
Our SoniXs M-RI and SoniXs MP-6 'Wood' automatic strapping machines reliably strap long and narrow products such as roof battens or profiled timber up to eight meters in length. Both are primarily used in the timber industry as part of a production line. The SoniXs MP-6 T, which is used for manual strapping in other industries, is equipped with a special "wood package" and a suitable interface for this purpose. Which machine is perfect for the respective application depends on the conveying direction.

SoniXs M-RI
Our SoniXs M-RI automatic strapping machine is designed for strapping roof battens, profiled timber or metal profiles thanks to its special ring frame with a diameter of 300 mm. These are often fed into the machine crosswise - a challenge that the machine overcomes by lowering the frame. The products can be easily placed on the flat table that is created as a result. The frame then closes again and reliably straps products from a minimum width of 65 mm. The machine is often used in fully automatic lines. To strap timber and slats with lengths of 4 to 8 m quickly, several machines are connected in series. Alternatively, the machine can also be operated manually, in which case the strapping is triggered by a foot switch. In addition to standard PP, the SoniXs M-RI can also process strapping material with a higher elasticity that is commonly used in the timber industry.

SoniXs sealing technology
The innovative and dirt-resistant SoniXs has significant advantages for the wood industry compared to conventional welding processes. As there is no significant heating during the welding process, there is not only an energy advantage but also no risk of fire caused by the wood dust in the products. Deposits and residues on the horn are completely avoided, ensuring high availability and therefore reduced maintenance. The minimal belt overlap at the sealing point also ensures additional safety.
HL strapping unit
Bulky wooden boards, heavy paving stones or large-volume steel sheets: the timber and construction industries place high demands on transport securing systems. Our HL strapping unit meets these requirements with a tensile force of up to 6000 N. It flexibly processes strapping with a width of 12 - 19 mm and a thickness of up to 1 mm. With your Mosca pallet strapping machines, you therefore have the option of selecting the HL unit and strap material to suit your heaviest products - and you can also use different unit variants for several lines to save energy. The HL unit is currently already in use in our KOV-111-16, KOV-315 and KZV-311 pallet strapping systems. In principle, it can be installed in all our vertical and horizontal pallet strapping systems or retrofitted to existing systems.

HL strapping unit
The head works with a low-noise friction seal. The decisive advantage of the high-performance unit when strapping heavy and large products is the high level of safety of the strapping process. The strength of the sealing point is up to 80 % of the tensile force of the strap used. The strapping band protrudes minimally beyond the seal in the direction of travel, so the full length of the seal can always be guaranteed.
If components of the unit need to be serviced or replaced, its modular and open design pays off: Components can be removed quickly and without tools, saving users and maintenance technicians time. In addition, many of the same components are used in HL units for 12, 15 and 19 mm Strap . This means that customers who have several machines in use need significantly fewer spare parts in stock.
Securing large-volume timber products during transportation
If the production of sawn timber, chipboard or other timber products is to run smoothly, the transport safety system must be able to keep pace with upstream production systems. Any downtimes for refilling consumables such as Strap, squared timber and edge protectors must be reduced to a minimum. Our KOV-111-16 strapping machine performs this demanding task in an incomparable way. Three new features ensure even greater reliability and safety. The high-performance unit with a tensile force of up to 6000 N enables heavy products to be strapped securely with 19 mm plastic strapping. The new squared timber feed and the fully automatic edge protection feeder optimize product protection.

KOV-111-16
The new storage unit of the KOV-111-16 can store 75 squared timbers in up to 5 different lengths at the same time. During operation, the storage unit moves horizontally to feed the appropriate length of squared timber under the palletless product as required. If the trolley is not in motion, the storage unit can be reloaded manually even while the machine is running, thus avoiding cost-intensive downtimes.
The fully automatic edge protector feeder also minimizes downtimes - thanks to its large storage unit with a capacity of up to 130 edge protectors. As soon as products are fed into the machine via the conveyor system, the pallet truck moves downwards for strapping. It automatically recognizes the edges of the product and applies the edge protector precisely. The machine therefore offers flexibility for different product heights and widths. If you also want to reduce further downtimes, you can rely on the optional latest-generation strap welding unit, the BSG-4, which welds the strap end of the coil that is coming to an end to the strap end of the new coil, thus enabling a time-optimized strap change. The latest version is equipped with a rechargeable battery, allowing one device to switch back and forth between several machines.
The entire system is electrically operated and therefore does not require cost-intensive pneumatics. All drives can be intelligently controlled so that the product to be strapped can be approached in any position by the edge protector feeder and the squared timber feeder. The machine therefore offers the customer maximum flexibility. An optional groove milling unit prevents damage to the Strap or slippage of the strap - the Strap is positioned securely in the milled groove and does not come into contact with the floor.
Horizontal strapping with vertical edge protection
Our fully automatic horizontal strapping machines, such as the KOV-315 model, which reliably straps products stored on pallets, are used in the construction industry and for other heavy products. For these models, we have now developed a special vertical edge protection feeder that connects stacked products such as bricks or paving stones, while the particularly high strap tension of the strapping machine guarantees safety during transportation. For sensitive products such as freshly manufactured Ytong bricks, the angles also protect the vulnerable product edges from damage during transportation.

The edge protection feeder attaches four solid cardboard angles to the product to be secured fully automatically. These not only protect the edges during transportation, but also connect products stacked in layers to form a composite. This makes them an environmentally friendly alternative to the frequently used stretch wrapping. Different angle sizes and large bearings offer you high flexibility for different products and high throughput.
