From manual to networked: Mosca versatile load securing solutions at LogiMAT
Mosca GmbH, which specializes in strapping machines and materials, will be presenting several new products and solutions for sustainability, digitalization, and service at LogiMAT in Stuttgart. Highlights at booth 6D21 in hall 6 include the German premiere of the new Luna A1 rotary arm wrapper and the entry-level SoniXs MS-6 machine, which focuses on securing supermarket displays.
New, compact, and high-quality: Mosca the Luna A1 rotary arm wrapper from its subsidiary Movitec for the first time in Germany. The rotary arm-based wrapper is designed for medium output and wraps up to 35 pallets per hour. "In logistics, among other areas, we are seeing a growing demand for more compact systems for small batch sizes of ten or 15 pallets per hour," reports Hartmut Köster, Portfolio Manager Wrapping Systems at Mosca. With the Luna A1, Mosca offers a system for this segment with its usual high quality.
Familiar quality meets compact design
The Luna A1 features a Siemens PLC, a Siemens touch panel, and frequency converters from Lenze SE. The control system is integrated directly into the base frame and can control up to five conveyors without a separate control cabinet. The machine allows the wrapping film to be pre-stretched by up to 300%, saving material through this stretching process. A taller version is available as an option, allowing pallets with a height of up to 2,500 millimeters to be wrapped instead of the usual 2,000 millimeters. Unlike rotary ring wrappers, the new Luna A1 does not have a 4-column frame, but is particularly compact thanks to a base column.
"The rotary arm winder is a cost-effective solution for a wide range of industries with low-performance requirements, including small to medium-sized production and logistics companies," says Köster. Mosca also Mosca users on selecting the optimal film type so that all components are perfectly matched. As a maintenance option, the IXON remote maintenance router is available after commissioning, enabling fast remote support from Mosca.
SoniXs MS-6 secures displays for supermarkets
With its entry-level machine, SoniXs MS-6 , Mosca is specifically addressing the packaging challenges associated with supermarket displays for fast-moving consumer goods Mosca LogiMAT. The assembly of displays with different products often requires manual work: after filling, the displays are fitted with slip lids or cardboard covers, individually strapped, and then bundled on a Euro pallet and wrapped there.
"Packaging requirements vary greatly depending on the product and packaging. Our experts have a wealth of experience with different solutions and advise customers on processes, strapping types, and logistics solutions with a view to reliability, product protection, and an optimal carbon footprint," says Christian Großkopf, Sales Manager Food & Beverage at Mosca.
In view of personnel shortages and increasing automation requirements, smart, flexible solutions are in demand. These not only provide users with the necessary capacity, but also offer the necessary planning security, especially for seasonal goods. With its in-depth expertise in handling display pallets (1/4 pallets), Mosca underscores Mosca position as a specialist in this segment. The SoniXs MS-6 can be seamlessly integrated into customers' existing conveyor systems and comes with a comprehensive range of services.
Scope of the Mosca portfolio
From its broad portfolio, Mosca will also be showcasing two hand strapping tools Mosca its trade fair stand, HUG HUG , designed for strapping bands with widths of up to 15 millimeters and 19 millimeters respectively. Thanks to its stronger band tension, the HUG is particularly suitable for demanding applications. A shredder for the used strap material complements the solutions on display: it shreds the strapping used by the hand strapping tools live so that it can be mechanically recycled and fed into new straps. Mosca thus Mosca a key concern: the development of a complete circular economy, which the company is promoting with projects such as "Loop That!".
Mosca is presenting Mosca SoniXs , equipped with the latest SoniXs, as another entry-level machine. A rotatable control panel and a standard second foot switch allow operation from both sides. The machine also features the latest internal frame system, which is designed for easy maintenance. The portfolio is rounded off by the SoniXs , which Mosca will be exhibiting Mosca the belt version.
The machine, designed for connectivity, enables data transmission via mobile communications directly to the cloud. From there, the recorded information can be integrated into ERP systems, for example, and reused. The machine has advanced interface options to ensure smooth machine and system communication. In addition to the control panel, the machine is equipped as standard with a user-friendly WebHMI, which allows users to view performance-related key figures and machine settings.
New reusable load securing system "PALSTAR"
In addition to the physical exhibits, Mosca will be providing insights into current developments in the field of reusable load securing systems Mosca its trade fair stand. With its new development "PALSTAR," the company is presenting a concept study for a new reusable load securing solution.
It is a modular system with an intermediate floor and clamping system integrated into the pallet. "We have created a method that is completely reusable and can be automated in the future," says Christoph Leppla, Head of Research and Development at Mosca. The solution is primarily designed for intralogistics and closed material cycles. With regard to the European Packaging Packaging Regulation (PPWR) Mosca sees this system Mosca a valuable addition to its existing portfolio of strapping and wrapping solutions.
All in all, Mosca is once again demonstrating its innovative strength, wide range of products, including consumables, and comprehensive 360-degree customer service Mosca LogiMAT.
