News on PPWR in the area of load unit securing
The EU Commission has decided to exclude pallet wrapping and strapping from the PPWR reuse quotas.
After months of intensive campaigning, there is finally good news from Brussels for the entire European transport and logistics industry.
The European Commission has made it clear: Essential materials for load securing - pallet wrapping and strapping - will be exempt from the ambitious reuse quotas of the PPWR !
We owe this success to the close cooperation with our partners from the entire value chain (e.g. StrapAlliance). Together, we were able to use scientific studies to prove that an exemption is important and correct.
Our focus is now even more on the circular economy: the trade magazine packaging journal highlights our efforts and cites our LoopThat! project with Interzero as a leading example of how we are making closed material loops for strapping tapes a reality.
