Innovative strength honored: For the fourth time in a row, Mosca GmbH received an award as an innovator in the German SME sector in the Top 100 competition. The jury and science journalist and mentor of the competition Ranga Yogeshwar praised, among other things, the development and consulting services of Mosca's TechCenter: at the headquarters in Waldbrunn , customers can test their transport safety systems on various test benches and receive a corresponding report as well as advice on optimization potential.

With the "Top 100 Innovator" award, Mosca has once again distinguished itself in the evaluation of German SMEs by the jury of the Top 100 competition this year: It examines the participating companies along 100 test criteria in five categories relating to their promotion of innovations and pays particular attention to their targeted, structural advancement within the company.

Mosca received the award this year for the TechCenter in Waldbrunn, among other things. "Innovation is and remains a central component of our corporate strategy," says Innovation and Technology Manager Amélie Münch. "We always have the needs and requirements of our customers in mind."

TechCenter contributes to the optimization of packaging and transport safety devices

This approach is reflected in Mosca 's TechCenter , where companies have been able to test and optimize their transport security since June 2023. At the company headquarters in Waldbrunn , test benches simulate vibrations, inclinations and braking maneuvers in order to test packaging under conditions that are as close to reality as possible. The machines transmit the measurement data collected directly to the development department in order to identify potential weak points in the securing concept at an early stage and improve the use of materials.

Customers can use this data to make targeted adjustments to their packaging concept and further minimize transport damage. Adjustments to the strapping can thus be implemented more easily and previously unused optimization potential becomes visible.

AI reduces set-up times

Mosca is also constantly developing new, innovative solutions for its own production: For example, the company is already using AI in several areas - including to optimize the sequence of production orders using algorithms. Thanks to this smart sequencing, a good 800 production orders per day are now intelligently prioritized - and set-up times are reduced by 20 percent as a result. Mosca 2024 also received an award from the Baden-Württemberg Industry 4.0 Alliance for this smart solution.

Innovator for decades

The fact that innovation is part of Mosca is something the company has proven time and again since the very beginning. With the SoniXs, the company was one of the first to use ultrasound to weld belt ends. The result: neither heat nor potentially harmful vapors are generated during welding, and the unit itself is more energy-efficient and requires less maintenance. Since then, several generations of SoniXs have made ultrasonic strapping even more efficient and sustainable.

"The award as a top innovator among German SMEs encourages us to continue to strategically develop and drive innovation in our company," says Amélie Münch. "Particularly in view of increasing digitalization and the use of artificial intelligence, this opens up new opportunities for us."
