All good things come in threes: Mosca GmbH is one of the "Top 100" for the third time in a row. This seal is only awarded to particularly innovative companies in the German SME sector.

When awarding the coveted "Top 100" seal, the organizer of the competition, compamedia, takes a scientific approach. Innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and his team examined the innovative strength of all applicants based on more than 100 criteria from five categories: Innovation-promoting top management, innovation climate, innovative processes and organization, external orientation/open innovation and innovation success.

Researchers take a close look at companies

Among other things, the researchers focused on the following questions: Are companies able to create new products, new services, new processes and new business models? And are these achievements just coincidences or the result of a structured and targeted approach? It was also important how and whether innovations and product improvements were able to assert themselves on the market (further information on the test criteria can be found at www.top100.de/pruefkriterien).

More than just classic product innovations

Mosca GmbH came out on top in this scientific selection process, making it one of the top innovators. "We are particularly pleased to receive this award again because innovation is firmly anchored in Mosca's DNA," says Dr. Johannes van der Beek, Group Vice President R & D/Engineering. "They are essential to securing our competitiveness and our future."

Mosca not only stands out with classic product innovations, such as the TRI-Connect strapping machine, which has been on the market since April 2024. The machine manufacturer is also thinking outside the box: new business models, such as the TechCenter, which opened in 2023, offer added value for customers while also making an important contribution to climate protection. Companies can have their transport packaging checked for stability and further optimized at four test stations. This can increase load safety and save packaging material. Mosca has also developed aCO2 product calculator for the TechCenter to precisely determine the emissions generated by the packaging.

Award ceremony in Weimar

"The TechCenter example shows Mosca s courage, perseverance and strength of implementation," said van der Beek at the "Top 100" award ceremony. Together with Christoph Leppla, Head of R & D, he had traveled to Weimar to accept the third award at the "Congress Centrum Weimarhalle". Ranga Yogeshwar also congratulated Mosca on his success. The science journalist has been mentoring the Top 100 innovation competition for twelve years.
