Young Local Talent

Mosca supports young talent with its own development program

Special skills do not develop by themselves, but with comprehensive support: this is the guiding principle behind the "Young Local Talent" development program, with which Mosca GmbH provides financial support to talented young people up to the age of 25 from Waldbrunn and neighboring communities.

Talented people are often said to do things with ease. However, not everything falls into the laps of talented individuals. Young people with special abilities in particular need comprehensive support, not least in financial terms. Mosca's "Young Local Talent" program provides the necessary support. With this program, the company pays out a monthly grant of 800 euros to a selected regional talent for one year. The funds are freely available to the selected participants - for example, to purchase equipment for their respective activity or for further training.

For Mosca , supporting young people - whether musicians, sportspeople or writers - is a matter of course: "We are not only connected to the Odenwald by our own company history, but also by the people who live in and around Waldbrunn ," emphasizes Simone Mosca, Managing Director of Mosca GmbH. "Our program thus makes a significant contribution to the development of regional institutions and individuals."

2025
Double triumph

This year, the decision was particularly difficult. "We received so many great applications from young talents," says Mosca Simone Mosca. "That's why we decided to choose two talents." The prize money will therefore be split: Anett and Lisa will each receive 400 euros per month. The funds are at the free disposal of both talents - for example, to purchase equipment for their respective activities or for further training.

Canoe racer

Anett Viktoria Pani, an up-and-coming canoe racer from Billigheim, has achieved impressive success in recent years: she became Baden-Württemberg champion in 2022; numerous other podium places at regional and national championships underline her great talent. Canoes are long, narrow boats that are usually made of plastic. Unlike kayaks, canoes are open and are traditionally paddled in a kneeling position.

Anett would like to use the prize money to take part in further national and international competitions and qualify for the Olympic Hope Games. In the long term, she dreams of competing at the Olympic Games. "I am over the moon about this award. The prize money will help me to achieve my sporting goals. Thank you so much for your support!" the 14-year-old beams.

2024
Passion for downhill riding

The first grant from the initiative launched in 2023 will go to the exceptional athlete in 2024 Lea Kumpf.

The eighteen-year-old from Waldbrunn has been cycling since the age of six; she joined a mountain bike club when she was nine. Her passion is downhill biking, a discipline in which athletes take on challenging rides through rough, sloping terrain - at predominantly high speeds that allow long jumps in places.

The aim of this adrenaline-charged sport is to achieve the best times and skillfully master the often tricky routes. The individual competitors are out and about in all weathers - in the heat of summer as well as on wet fall days.

For Lea Kumpf, the support from Mosca is a big step forward in her still young career: "I'm delighted to be a participant in the first edition of 'Young Local Talent' and to receive funding for the next twelve months. This will enable me to finance travel to races, accommodation, catering at competitions and repairs." This opens up new doors for the exceptional athlete, who celebrated her second win of the season in 2023 and has already taken part in two World Cups: "Thanks to Mosca s support, I can take part in more crucial races in Germany and Switzerland from early summer to fall 2024."
