Project competition 2022
Mosca, Odenwald Treuhand, Malereibetrieb Spohn and Autohaus Käsmann honor more than 30 clubs.
This year, everything revolved around the motto "Your project for the environment": Mosca GmbH , together with Autohaus Käsmann, Odenwald Treuhand and Malereibetrieb Spohn, announced a sustainability competition for non-profit associations for the first time. Numerous associations from the region around Waldbrunn submitted their creative projects with which they contribute to environmental protection in their region. "With our competition, we also wanted to recognize the small regional associations whose commitment to the environment is often overlooked," explained Simone Mosca, Managing Director of Mosca GmbH. In total, the four companies donated over 25,000 euros in the form of vouchers from JOMA as prize money. Each of the associations thus received a voucher worth 800 euros at the award ceremony.
Mosca hosted the award ceremony at the company premises in Waldbrunn - including numerous guests of honor. Dennis Geiger and Jacob Bruun Larsen from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim traveled to the event and took the opportunity to congratulate the winners and find out about the projects in person. In addition to representatives of the participating clubs, the initiators of the project competition were also present. "We are delighted with the lively participation and the imaginative projects that were presented today," said Christiane Spohn, Managing Director of Spohn GmbH. Klemens Käsmann, Managing Director of Autohaus Käsmann GmbH, added: "It was important to us to also support projects that have been running in the region for years but have not yet been recognized or supported."
The initiators
These projects included bank cleaning campaigns along the Neckar by clubs such as the ASV Zwingenbergthe ASC Neckartalthe DLRG-stations Limbach, Aglasterhausen and Mosbach. The clubs are also campaigning against littering in the region: The women's teams of SV Dielbach collected litter together around the sports fields in Waldbrunn, the youth fire department of the Hesselbach volunteer fire department took on the area around the Hesselbach and the surrounding hiking trails. And also around Großeicholzheim, Wagenschwend, in the Nüstenbach valley and Sattelbach the members of the local clubs collected garbage together.
Other participating clubs want to improve their environmental footprint through energy-saving measures: for example, FVDiedesheim, FV Laudenberg FV Laudenberg and the FC Hirschhorn converted the floodlighting of their soccer pitches to LED and the association for the Fahrenbach Christmas market also successfully converted the entire lighting for the event to energy-saving LED lamps.
Joint finale
After the award ceremony, visitors, club members and sponsors rounded off the evening together. "Many clubs took the opportunity today to make contacts with each other, which we are very pleased about," said Holger Wettig, Managing Director of Odenwald Treuhand GmbH. "Cooperation in the region is an important component of our commitment to sustainability - and this is gaining energy tonight."
