Trainee projects
in the 2nd year of training
Since 2024, our trainees have also had the opportunity to demonstrate their creativity and develop their own projects in their second year of training. These projects focus on the topic of sustainability and offer trainees the chance to research and implement innovative solutions for environmentally friendly practices.
2025–2026
Rainwater Collection System
In 2025, the second-year apprentices took over the care of the newly planted trees and the flower meadow on the company grounds. It quickly became clear that regular watering required a great deal of effort, since the water needed had to be carried by hand over a long distance.
To make irrigation more efficient in the future, the trainees sought a sustainable solution for rainwater harvesting. Since the downspouts of the greenhouses cannot be used, they opted for a system consisting of an IBC container and a funnel-shaped rainwater collector. The collected rainwater will be stored and then used to water the plants.
As a first step, the team began building a suitable frame for the IBC container. This frame is designed to raise the container off the ground and generate higher water pressure through the resulting head. By planning and building the basic frame, the trainees laid the foundation for the project’s further implementation.
2024
Providing a refuge for birds and insects
The first group was responsible for the birds that live around the Mosca company. To avoid wasting resources, wood from old pallets was used. The boxes were also coated with environmentally friendly oils so that they would last longer.
At the beginning of March, the group installed a total of four nesting boxes on the factory premises.
