Ultrasonic Side Seal Strapping for Logistics & White Goods

The new Mosca Evolution MS-6, features Mosca’s patented ultrasonic sealing unit - SoniXs - mounted on the side of the machine for easier and faster strapping of heavy products or items transported close to the ground, such as furniture, white goods and stacked tote boxes.

The highly efficient SoniXs sealing units are ready to go instantly from power-up, as they do not require any pre-heating of the heater plates.  SoniXs utilises a cold weld technology that joins strap ends together without the need for heat, greatly reducing energy consumption and eliminating the risk of users accidently touching hot plates or seeing melting plastic fumes during the welding process. Thanks to an intuitive head design with minimised moving parts, strap weld integrity and machine performance is consistent over longer periods compared to heat seal systems.  The technology utilises direct drive DC motors to reduce wear and tear parts, ultimately resulting in less engineer intervention.  All this comes together to deliver a simple, safe user experience and reduced lifetime costs with unrivalled uptime and energy efficiency.

The MS-6 can be specified to work with upstream and downstream conveyor sections making the machines fully automatic and easily integrated into existing production lines.  The pivoting control panel allows operation of the machine from either side.

Additional options include frame sizes from 450 x 400mm to 2200 x 900mm and a fully automated strap splicing system to facilitate seamless coil changes, without halting production, and the machine to operate unmanned for longer periods. Full network-compatibility is also available maximising industry 4.0 technology to enable remote maintenance and diagnostics. 

The machines can be specified with strap widths of 5, 6, 8, 9, 10 or 12mm, offering solutions for securing light and heavyweight product in either PP, PET or PLA (bio plastic) strap.
