For the past few years, strapping machine specialist, Mosca Direct Ltd, has made a charitable donation in lieu of sending Christmas cards to customers & suppliers.
Earlier this year, Mosca Direct Ltd employees took part in a fundraising day at work for Comic Relief where everyone in the office came to work dressed as Elvis Presley. Engineering and sales teams on the road joined in by sending in photos of them at work sporting their red noses. It was such a success that Mosca decided to continue supporting the same charity this Christmas and employees have continued the theme of ‘Comic Relief’ by adorning the company Christmas Tree with festive jokes. A spokesperson for Comic Relief commented how fantastic it is to receive such support and donations and how thankful they are for Mosca’s continued support.
In previous years, the forward thinking business has donated to Bowel Cancer UK, Samaritans Purse, the British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and the Wish upon a Star charity for children with terminal illnesses.
Gaye Tate, Managing Director at Mosca Direct Ltd, comments, “We made the decision a few years ago to make a charitable donation instead of sending paper cards, choosing a different charity to support each year. As part of our environmental policy, we have already significantly reduced the amount of paper produced and used in our business and, as part of this, it made sense that we stop sending out paper cards. Our customers and suppliers responded really well and many have since followed suit. To us, it makes more sense to donate to a charity who can put the money to much better use.”
Comic Relief have a mission to drive positive change through the power of entertainment. Money donated is put towards incredible projects both in the UK and across the world, effectively tackling inequality and making lasting change.
