Loyalty from Long-Term Customer Sheard Packaging

The quality and reliability of strapping specialist Mosca has been reaffirmed as corrugated packaging company and long-time customer Sheard Packaging chose to purchase from Mosca Direct Ltd once again.  Sheard added a new production line as part of an expansion plan and installed a Mosca KCK-131 Pallet Press and WRG Stretch Wrapper at its factory in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

The company is using the KCK-131 Pallet Press to apply two parallel polyester straps to pallets of flat stacked cardboard sheets. The two straps are applied simultaneously thanks to the machine’s two sealing units. Once strapped the stack is moved along conveyors to the WRG stretch wrapper, where plastic wrap is applied to the entire pallet to protect and secure it for storage and transportation. 

The KCK-131 is a high-speed, fully-automatic pallet packing press that includes Mosca’s patented SoniXs sealing unit. A SoniXs sealing head uses high frequency vibration – rather than traditional heat-seal methods – to secure the strap-ends together. It therefore requires no heat-up time and produces no fumes due to melting strap.  It consumes less energy, generates less mess, and is much faster - processing up to 200 vertically-strapped pallets per hour. 

The WRG stretch wrapper is suitable for all industry sectors, and includes a rotating ring for products with dimensions up to 1,450x1,450mm. 

Sheard Packaging has used Mosca strappers and wrappers for many years, so when it expanded its site and added a new production line due to business growth Sheard was confident that Mosca could deliver to the exact specifications required.
